The South Wilts Implant Centre is a state of the art implant facility dedicated to offering patients access to all forms of dental implant therapy. All the team involved have great experience and training in implant dentistry and aim to make this well documented and successful treatment option available to as many people as possible.
Our aim at South Wilts Implant Centre is to allow as many people as possible to benefit from the replacement of missing/extracted teeth with dental implants. Implants can offer a true health benefit to patients if they avoid the drilling of healthy teeth or wearing dentures. However, the cost of implants has always been prohibitive for many people with the major implant suppliers maintaining high costs to the practitioner and patients above those in other countries. With this in mind, South Wilts Implant Centre have sourced different implant systems which significantly reduce the cost to patients and should allow more patients to benefit from implant treatment.
Our Team
Dr Grig Popovici
DMD, Cosmetic Imp Dent, BAIRD

Grig runs South Wilts Implant Centre, a facility which is dedicated to the provision of Implant dentistry. Grig has vast experience in implant planning, placement and restoration, having been trained in Switzerland, Germany, United Kingdom and Romania.
Grig believes in finding the simplest route to achieve an individual's particular needs and that dental implants offer a real health benefit over alternative forms of tooth replacement in the majority of cases.
Samantha Wesley
Orthodontic Coordinator
GDC: 140468
Sam started her career in dental nursing in 1989 and is the newest member of our team. She enjoys working along the Principal Dentist on orthodontic treatments and complex cosmetic cases taking also care of dental photography in the practice.
Outside of work she enjoys travelling, music, dancing and loves spending quality time with her family.
Ian Downie
DMD, Cosmetic Imp Dent, BAIRD

Mr Ian Downie is an experienced Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon with a special interest in facial deformity, salivary gland surgery, oral medicine, facial pain, facial trauma and skin cancer.
Mr Downie pursued a medical degree in Southampton after he qualified as a dentist in Liverpool. He focused on maxillofacial surgery on the South Coast Training Programme after extensively trained in general surgery. During his maxillofacial training, he worked in the UK as well as in the United States and in India.
He was appointed to a consultant post at Salisbury District Hospital in Salisbury in 2002.
Mr Downie has a broad practice including head and neck cancer, facial trauma and deformity. His recent work has concentrated on facial deformity surgery and he has become a core member of the Spires Cleft team.
Mr Downie provides a full range of oral and maxillofacial assessments and treatments including complex teeth extractions, dentoalveolar surgery, sinus elevation procedures and temporomandibular joint disorders.
